About CVs
CV is short for Curriculum Vitae (CV) is Latin for ‘course of life,’ however, this does not mean your CV should include every little detail about your life. Your CV should focus on the achievements you have made and the skills and experience you have that are relevant to the vacancy. Your CV gets your foot in the door, and since you can't be there to answer the questions, your CV has to do it for you
You should imagine your CV as an advert or ‘personal marketing’. A CV is essentially a promotional device that is trying to sell your skills, achievements and abilities. With this advert, you are trying to attract potential employers so you can seize your dream job. It must be unique and eye catching and make you stand out from all other applicants.
You have, on average, 20 seconds to impress recruiters with your CV. If it is too long, too boring, or poorly presented then it will just be binned with the other CVs that do not meet the mark.
Many people do not get to the interview selection stage simply because their CV is not up to scratch. To get that all important interview you need to maximise your chances of selection by learning what makes an employer say, "Wow".
You are not the only person who is looking for their dream job. On average, every post that is advertised will generate 200 applicants, so you have to stand out from the crowd. Your CV needs to be bursting with information about you and your abilities. It needs to make the reader want to hire you there and then.
The majority of people find it difficult to write their CV. Some don’t know what to include and others don’t know what to leave out. Some simply cannot write about themselves objectively and interestingly.
We can help you write your own professional CV or we can write one designed specifically for you - unlike most CV writing services, which will no doubt provide you with a disheartening generic CV that could suit any Tom, Dick or Harry.
